About the event
Experience the rich heritage of Jamaican music and culture at Evening Time, featuring the Jamaican Folk Revue and Tallawah Mento Band. Evening Time is a Fundraising Concert on June 21, 2025, at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center, to provide financial support for their journey to represent Jamaica at Panafest 2025 in Ghana.
At the heart of the evening are breathtaking performances by the Jamaican Folk Revue, renowned for preserving and showcasing traditional folk music, and the Tallawah Mento Band, whose lively rhythms bring the essence of Jamaica to life. Together, they’ll take audiences on a journey through Jamaica’s musical roots with folk classics, revival and nyabinghi rhythms, kumina, and songs honoring Jamaican icons like Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, and Marcus Garvey.
